The Portugal site opens up new potential

Planning, developing and producing - ASPÖCK is Europe’s leading manufacturer of complete lighting kits for all type of trailers and has been delivering the ultimate in precision and perfection for over 35 years.

To continue to provide the latest solutions and reliable technologies, continuous development has been at the forefront of the company’s strategy. Therefore, and due to the steady growth, the company has been expanded and investment made in the factory extension in Oliveira de Azeméis / Portugal. What we have created here is state of the art logistics and an assembly hall at the cutting edge of technology. At 9,000 m², the logistics and production facility has gained double its original size. The Engineering Centre, which has been designed for research purposes, will also be completed in the next few months.

The logistics building has been redesigned and expanded. The warehouse in this has been technically updated with the pick-performance being significantly enhanced. The commissioning system tried and tested at the head office served as a template.

Investments have focused on extending the building and on acquiring new machinery. Injection moulding machines achieving a significantly better energy balance and greater productivity have been put in to replace older systems.

In addition to the production plant, the Engineering Centre for Research & Development will be expanded and extended over the coming months in Portugal. Aspöck Portugal is to be the centre for research, design and development for the entire Aspöck Group. This will see new laboratories and a test centre for approximately 90 people from Austria and Portugal being created, featuring the latest functional technology.

This is where product development is based and where all ideas converge and then the implementation is tested with various simulations; and also the sample production (trial centre), where the product and the associated production processes are given the finishing touches before serial production.

Sustainable growth is the basis for pioneering developments. With these and other capacity expansions, the Aspöck Group sees itself ideally prepared for new projects and developments.
